The Williamson County Conservation Foundation is offering another “Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves” training for people who want to access County preserve areas.  The next training will be held on Tuesday, May 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Williamson County Central Maintenance Facility training room, 3151 S.E. Inner Loop, in Georgetown. To reserve a spot in the class, send an email to wccf@wilco.org and include "LNT" in the subject line.

The portion of the Brushy Creek Regional Trail that was temporarily closed due to upgrades to the railroad bridge by Capital Metro is now open. Trail patrons once again can traverse the trail between Brushy Creek Sports Park and the 183A Trailhead. We thank you for your cooperation and patience while the work was being completed.

To prevent opioid abuse and accidental overdose, on April 29th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to dispose controlled and over-the-counter expired and unused prescription drugs. It’s free, safe and convenient. Drive-in, drop-off, no questions asked at seven convenient locations.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter invites you to participate in our 8th Annual Woof Walk & Wrun 5K presented by WCRAS. Join us for a timed USATF Certified (TX12050ETM) 5K run or an easy one mile stroll with or without your dog in beautiful Berry Springs Park and Preserve. This event, on April 23rd starting at 8:30 a.m. in Georgetown, TX, raises funds for the urgent outside veterinary care needed by the sick and injured dogs and cats brought to our shelter.

Williamson County Emergency Medical Services will be working in conjunction with St. David’s Round Rock Hospital and Baby Earth to conduct a car safety seat and booster event for area residents from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017.  The safety seat check will take place in the parking lot near Baby Earth, 106 East Old Settlers Blvd., behind Classic Auto Group in Round Rock.
