A special Tree of Angels ceremony will be held in the 26th District Courtroom at the historic courthouse, 710 S Main St, Georgetown, on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. Families and friends of a victim and survivors of a violent crime are invited to bring an ornament to place on this special tree to honor victims of violent crime.

Celebrate the holiday season on the day after Thanksgiving at the annual Lighting of the Square event on Friday, November 24, 2017.  The event will be held on the east steps of the historic Williamson County Courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, in downtown Georgetown. The festivities include entertainment from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Williamson County Brown Santa will offer pictures with Santa for a $10 donation in the historic Courthouse after the lighting event from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Enter the courthouse on the south side.

To prevent opioid abuse and accidental overdose, on October 28, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to dispose of controlled and over-the-counter expired and unused prescription drugs. It’s free, safe and convenient. Drive-in, drop-off, no questions asked at several locations throughout Williamson County including the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, 508 Rock Street, Georgetown.

Property Tax statements will be mailed the week of October 16, 2017, according to Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector Larry Gaddes. The County Tax Assessor/Collector's Office sends out tax bills on behalf of over 100 taxing entities in Williamson County.  If your taxes are escrowed, the statement will be mailed to your lender. Taxes may be paid by mail, online at www.wilco.org/propertytax/ or in person at any of the four tax office locations in Williamson County.
