The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Williamson County for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2021. This was the 30th consecutive year that Williamson County has achieved this prestigious award. In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized comprehensive annual financial report. This report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements. A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA): Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR):
The County Auditor began publishing this report for FYE 2005 in order to provide the citizens of Williamson County a much more “user-friendly” reporting of the county finances. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has given an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to Williamson County for its Popular Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2021. The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular reports. In order to receive an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting, a government unit must publish a Popular Annual Financial Report, whose contents conform to program standards of creativity, presentation, understand-ability and reader appeal. An Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is valid for a period of one year only. Williamson County has received a Popular Award for the last 17 consecutive years. 2014 Louisville Award for Innovation in Government Finance

In addition, Williamson County was presented with the Louisville Award for Innovation in Government Finance, awarded occasionally to recognize an exceptional accomplishment that introduces a new concept or technique with enduring value to the government finance profession. This award is the GFOA’s highest honor. It is only the fourth time it’s been awarded since 2001. It was awarded because Williamson County went above and beyond to create a Business Intelligence System for the Public Sector, the first fully supported Software as a Service package built by and for the public sector to meet public-sector business intelligence and operational reporting requirements in a manner that is transferable to most other jurisdictions.

 
2014 Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Government Finance

The GFOA’s most prestigious awards recognize contributions to the practice of government finance that exemplify outstanding financial management. The awards stress practical, documented work that offers leadership to the profession and promotes improved public finance. This year’s Awards for Excellence-winning entries encompass such innovations in areas of capital financing and debt administration, e-government and technology, and pensions and benefits. Williamson County was one of only five governmental agencies recognized this year.

 
2010 Denise Linch Assistant County Auditor Reward

The Texas Association of County Auditors presented the 2010 Denise Linch Assistant County Auditor award to Julie Kiley during the 2010 Annual Conference in Lubbock, Texas. Denise Linch lived from 1959 to 2008 and was able to capture the attention of the association for exceptional professionalism, courage, skill, perseverance, discipline, loyalty, and dedication to service. Julie Kiley truly exhibits all of these qualities and, therefore, has been awarded the Assistant County Auditor of the Year.
