Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter
Board Member
The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is a collaborative effort between Williamson County and the cities of Round Rock, Cedar Park, Hutto, and Leander. The shelter objectives are to increase pet adoptions and lost pet reclaims; emphasize humane care for lost, unwanted or displaced pets; assist animal control public safety efforts by providing a secure area for dangerous animals and a safe haven for strays; and reduce the costs to each participating entity through a shared regional facility.

Williamson County Conservation Foundation 
Board Vice President

The Williamson County Conservation Foundation (WCCF) was established in December 2002 as a pro-active measure to comply with the Endangered Species Act while helping to further responsible development in Williamson County.

All parts of Williamson County have experienced rapid growth in the past decade. This growth has necessitated a regional approach to balancing the needs for development with the needs for conservation.

Williamson County Behavioral Health Task Force 
Committee Member

The Mental Health Task Force focuses on countywide mental health policy and systems changes for all age groups and includes a Children and Youth Behavioral Health Subcommittee.

Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties 
Board Member
Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties is a private, non-profit corporation governed by elected officials, community leaders and target area representatives. Throughout its history, Opportunities has administered a wide range of social service and economic opportunity programs benefiting many. The board and staff are dedicated to provide services for the community through programs such as Head Start, Meals on Wheels, Community Services and Affordable Housing. The mission of Opportunities is to make our communities stronger by empowering children, families and seniors to achieve independence and improved quality of life.

Williamson County Audit Committee
Committee Member

In order to promote greater community involvement and transparency, Commissioner Covey serves on this committee with a volunteer panel of Williamson County citizens.

Williamson County Investment Committee 
Committee Member

Commissioner Covey serves on this committee along with the County Judge, County Treasurer, County Tax Assessor/Collector and the County Auditor to analyze reports on the county investments.
