Request for Public Comment

Due to recent safety concerns expressed about the intersection, the County is evaluating additional intersection improvements for inclusion into the design. Please note that this location does not currently have the traffic volumes to warrant a traffic signal. The County asked the community to select their preference between the two options below. Public comments were accepted between November 17 and December 8, 2021. The technical team will review the feedback and finalize design of the improvements. For more information on the potential improvements, please see below.

Option 1:

Provides a dedicated southbound turn lane from Wyoming Springs Drive to Smyers Lane.
Improves intersection traffic flow at both Smyers Lane and RM 620 by moving traffic from Smyers Lane out of the main traffic flow lanes.

Option 2:

Also provides a dedicated southbound turn lane from Wyoming Springs Drive to Smyers Lane, but includes a  “hooded” left-turn lane, which increases safety for drivers.
Prevents traffic from Smyers Lane from crossing Wyoming Springs Drive.
