Mission Statement

Justice consists not in being neutral between right and wrong, but in finding the right and upholding it, wherever found, against the wrong.”
Theodore Roosevelt

The Williamson County Attorney’s Office shall work to ensure the integrity of the judicial process by seeing that justice is done for all, thus providing our community with a safe, fair, and just place to live. This responsibility requires us to hold the guilty accountable, protect the innocent, protect our children from abuse or neglect, aid our community by providing sound legal advice and representation for Williamson County or its officials upon request, preserve the dignity of victims and their families, and remain ever vigilant in serving and protecting our citizenry.

As public servants, it is our duty to vigorously pursue transparency of the governmental process, extend outstanding customer service to all, ensure conviction integrity, provide accurate and timely legal advice, and maintain the highest ethical standards. This can only be accomplished by attention to fundamental principles that must remain at the forefront as we continue to charge bravely into the fire.

As a County Attorney’s Office serving one of the fastest growing counties in the country and an office with one of the largest subject matter jurisdictions in the State of Texas we shall work tirelessly to ensure that all our responsibilities are provided equal passion and dedication across disciplines.

Exceptional service is expected when representing the State of Texas in all adult misdemeanor cases, all juvenile cases, mental health cases, Justice Court cases, environmental cases, animal seizure cases, victim-centered cases, our representation of the Department of Family and Protective Services for the protection of children within our county, and when seeking protective orders on behalf of victims of family violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

The same level of service is expected when representing Williamson County and its officials upon formal request with legal advice and legal representation, fulfillment of governmental transparency through timely and accurate response to public information requests, and all other accompanying legal services as required.

Our focus remains squarely on hard work, honesty, integrity, accountability, and the idea of building and maintaining partnerships. Partnerships within our own county structure, within our community, with our law enforcement agencies, and with all the voices that make Williamson County a great community.

We proudly shoulder the responsibility to uphold our community’s values while protecting the constitutional and statutory rights afforded everyone we serve regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. Justice can never be “one size fits most” it can only be justice for all!

Justice cannot be served within the shadows of society but must be delivered and displayed under the brightest stage lights of public consumption. Then, and only then, can a community truly evaluate the effectiveness of their public servants. This office accepts that challenge.

Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid.
Ronald Reagan

Each member of our team shall proudly commit themselves to the following core values in the execution of their duties: Fairness, Innovation, Integrity, Loyalty, Partnership, Quality, Respect, Service, Teamwork, and Work Ethic.

Fairness: the impartial and just treatment or behavior without favoritism or discrimination. We shall treat all reasonably, consistently, and with the same level of exuberance regardless of their situation. We must protect everyone’s constitutional and statutory rights regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.

“We’re blessed with the opportunity to stand for something – for liberty and freedom and fairness – and these are things worth fighting for, worth devoting our lives to.” Ronald Reagan

Loyalty: faithfulness to commitments or obligations. We must be loyal to the goal of public trust and take seriously our commitments and obligations to our community, to our law enforcement, to our victims, and to the judicial system overall.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

Partnership: We must continue to build, maintain, and advance partnerships and avoid regression to isolationism. Partnerships within our own county structure, within our community, with our law enforcement community, and with all the voices that make Williamson County a great community.

· A Positive Work Ethic is approaching the profession with a “can do” attitude and never remarking that some task “is not my job.” To approach work with a good attitude and an expectation of accomplishment.
