The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) was called to assist with the surrender of 44 cats from a single location in Round Rock last week. Once they arrived, our team of professional animal care specialists jumped into action to assess each of the cats’ needs and get them ready for adoption, and now, a generous donor has stepped forward to assist. Of the 44 cats surrendered, 31 are currently available for adoption at WCRAS. Starting Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, and every Tuesday thereafter, Williamson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., two hours later than during the other days of the week. Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 is located at 211 West 6^th Street in Taylor. Williamson County announced changes to the Corridor I-2 Planning and Right-of-Way (ROW) Preservation Study. The study will still consider connections for travel between US 183 and SH 29, but with a narrower ROW footprint and updated alignments. The lobby of the Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Office will be closed to the public on Thursday and Friday, January 6 and 7, due to a staff shortage. The Commissioners Court meeting for Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, was canceled due to the holidays. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, starting at 9:30 a.m. Meetings are held in the Commissioners Courtroom on the second floor of the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, in Georgetown.
