JP1 Office Closed Tuesday from Noon to 5 p.m.

The office of Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 in Round Rock will be closed on Tuesday, June 14, from noon to 5 p.m. for staff training. The public may use the drop box located outside of our building to the far north end, or pay online at: https://www.wilco.org/payjp1. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers. Quarry Splash Pad Open for the Summer

The Quarry Splash Pad at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, 3005 C.R. 175, Leander, is open for the summer season through September 5, 2022. The splash pad is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The daily admission fee is $2 per person, credit cards only. The splash pad is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, except for Labor Day.

Williamson County Begins Reconstruction of CR 401

Williamson County is starting construction work on CR 401 from US 79 to north of CR 404 in Taylor. The CR 401 Reconstruction project will tie CR 401 into US 79. The project also includes expanding the existing two-lane CR 401 to a four-lane roadway in order to provide more capacity for vehicles to safely travel in the area. The project includes constructing a bridge over Mustang Creek and a cul-de-sac at the south end of the road where it borders the Samsung property.

Commissioners Court Approves Increase in Homestead Property Tax Exemptions

On May 17, the Williamson County Commissioners Court voted to increase property tax exemptions, providing tax relief to all residential homesteads in the county.  Property tax exemptions for persons 65 and older increased from $90,000 to $125,000. Property tax exemption for disabled persons increased from $75,000 to $125,000. In addition, the Commissioners Court increased the homestead property tax exemption for all homeowners from 1.5% of their homestead’s assessed value to 5% or a minimum of $5,000. In order to qualify, property owners must apply for the homestead exemption through the Williamson Central Appraisal District. WCRAS Opening One Hour Late on May 18, 2022

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown, will open one hour later than usual at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, due to a staff training session. The shelter will close at its normal time of 6 p.m. The shelter will resume normal open business hours on Thursday, May 19. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes our customers.
