Williamson County Breaks Ground on Wyoming Springs at Smyers Lane Intersection Improvements

Williamson County Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey and Precinct 1 Commissioner Terry Cook were joined by others to break ground on improvements to the Wyoming Springs at Smyers Lane intersection in Round Rock today. Williamson County will install a dedicated left-turn lane southbound on Wyoming Springs Drive at Smyers Lane. This will provide a bay for cars to stack up prior to turning left into Walgreens, allowing southbound traffic to continue unimpeded.

Williamson County Lifts Burn Ban

County Judge Bill Gravell has lifted the burn ban for unincorporated areas of Williamson County today, Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 5 p.m. Please be cautious with any outdoor burning activity.  Outdoor burning must be conducted under state regulations found in Texas Administrative Code Section 30 TAC 111.219. Public Affairs Office Earns Golden Post Award for Virtual Ribbon-Cutting Video

The Commissioners Court recognized Williamson County Public Affairs for receiving the 2022 Golden Post Award for Best Use of Long-Form Video at the Government in Social Media Conference. Williamson County Public Affairs entered the virtual ribbon-cutting video for the Brushy Creek Regional Trail Phase 5. The video was created by Lauren Gammon and featured a parody of “Be Our Guest” written by Commissioner Terry Cook and sung by Cathie Sheridan.

The Williamson County Commissioners Court received a presentation on the Fiscal Year 2021 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Independent Auditor’s Report from Weaver and Tidwell, L.L.P. as well as the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR), also known as the Citizen’s Report, on April 19. Current and past Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports and PAFR are available on the County Auditor’s website: https://wilco.mygovcenter.com/cms/cms?id=82

Williamson County Judge Issues Disaster Declaration for April 12 Storm

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell issued an order declaring a local state of disaster for Williamson County due to the severe weather event on April 12, 2022. The disaster declaration is in effect for seven days unless extended by the Commissioners Court. For a copy of the disaster declaration, click here. Anyone with damage can report it to the state through this link https://damage.tdem.texas.gov/ and select April Severe Weather. Governor Greg Abbott has issued disaster declarations for Bell County and Williamson County in response to severe weather that impacted the communities overnight on April 12.
