Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell has issued an Order Declaring a Local State of Disaster for Williamson County. The Order prohibits outdoor burning in all of the unincorporated areas of Williamson County and smoking in and/or on Williamson County parks, preserves and trails due to dry vegetation, wind and imminent threat of severe damage. The order is in effect for a period not to exceed seven days and can be lifted by the County Judge if conditions improve. For additional restrictions, requirements and details relating to the Order Prohibiting Outdoor Burning, the Order may be viewed here.

Precinct 4 Constable Paul Leal was selected by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) to receive the 2022 State of Texas Law Enforcement Achievement Award for Public Service

The Williamson County District Clerk’s Office wants to warn residents in Williamson and surrounding counties about a phone scam that was reported to that office.  People have been receiving calls from someone who claims to be a county official or law enforcement officer telling the victim that he or she has failed to appear for jury duty and is threatening arrest by failure to appear.

A temporary pedestrian fence has been placed around the grassy areas of the Williamson County Courthouse. It will be in place for approximately three weeks.

All Williamson County Tax Offices will be closed to the public on Wednesday, June 15, to allow staff to focus on the significant backlog of mailed-in transactions.  All Tax Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 16.  Registration renewals can be performed at all Williamson County HEB and AAA locations.
