Williamson County offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 26, and on Friday, November 27, 2020. The county will resume normal working hours on Monday, November 30. The Williamson County Commissioners Court meeting has been canceled for Tuesday, December 1, due to the holiday. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but will resume operations on Friday, November 27. The Williamson County Commissioners Court unanimously approved allocating $500,000 to support local food banks through the Wilco Forward Program, funded by CARES Act Funds, Tuesday, November 17, during the Williamson County Commissioners Court meeting.  

In this edition of the WILCOunty Line residence will get details about an upcoming holiday event, information on the latest COVID-19 response, and how the community can support low income families while making their holiday extra special. 

 Williamson County Office of Emergency Management in partnership with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and in coordination with the City of Leander will be hosting free COVID-19 testing Saturday, September 26. Testing will be conducted at the Leander Extended Opportunity (LEO) Building located at 300 South West Drive. It will begin at 9 a.m. and it will close by 1:00 p.m. or until supplies last.   

Williamson County Census Committee Hosts Census Events

The 2020 US Census ends on September 30. Williamson County’s Census Complete Count Committee (CCC) is hosting two events in low response census tracts to encourage residents to complete the census on the final weekend of the census count.
