In this edition of the WILCOunty Line residents can learn how to stay informed and prepared ahead of an emergency, details on the voting registration deadline, and what to do to fight the bite! 

The Williamson County Commissioners Court passed a proclamation declaring September as National Preparedness Month. This is a reminder of the importance of being prepared ahead of a natural disaster or other emergency.  

Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. County offices will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8; however, the Commissioners Court meeting originally scheduled for that day has been canceled. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 15, at 9:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom on the second floor of the historic courthouse, located at 710 S. Main Street, in Georgetown. Williamson County and the Texas Department of Transportation are pleased to announce the completion of improvements to the intersection at Sam Bass and RM 1431 in Round Rock. The modifications were completed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). 

Williamson County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline^® EMS Gold Plus Award for the fourth year in a row, and the Mission Lifeline Award for the seventh year in a row. This award is given to pre-hospital providers for continuing to meet quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who experience heart attacks.
