The African-themed water park and convention center is family-owned and scheduled to open in 2020. Kalahari Resorts Round Rock is a $550 million, 350-acre complex that will be located on U.S. 79 across from the Dell Diamond and Old Settlers Park.

Judge Mathews Appointed to Judicial Commission on Mental Health

Judge Stacey Mathews of the 277th District Court was appointed to serve on the newly established Judicial Commission on Mental Health. The commission, the first body jointly created by the Texas Supreme Court and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, will examine best practices in the administration of civil and criminal justice for persons with mental illness.  Texas’ two high courts have appointed 31 members, including Judge Mathews, to lead the newly established Judicial Commission on Mental Health.

The study is designed to better understand residents’ housing decisions and their experiences living, working or going to school in the region.
