Georgetown Annex Ribbon Cutting and Open House May 3

The public is invited to an open house on Friday, May 3, for the new Georgetown Annex, 100 Wilco Way, in Georgetown. The official ribbon cutting will be at 10 a.m. followed by an open house until noon where the public is invited to go through the building and visit the various offices. Congressman John Carter, Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell, Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey, Justice of the Peace Evelyn McLean and Constable Kevin Stofle along with other elected officials will be at the ceremony. The Georgetown Annex is a 60,000 square foot, two-story building that offices the Precinct 3 Commissioner, Constable and Justice of the Peace as well as Purchasing, Human Resources, Veterans Services, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. The building also holds an employee breakroom, multiple meeting and conference rooms and a training/teaching space for AgriLife Extension.

Community Development Block Grant Issues Call for Projects

Williamson County’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program will be allocating $1,467,836 in funds next fiscal year. The fiscal year runs from October 2019 to September 2020. Cities, non-profits and other entities can apply for that funding now through May 22, 2019 at 5 p.m. Funds are intended to primarily benefit low- to moderate-income persons in Williamson County. Projects should be located in the unincorporated area of the County and the incorporated cities that have joined the urban County designation. These cities include Cedar Park, Coupland, Georgetown, Granger, Hutto, Jarrell, Leander, Liberty Hill, Taylor, and Weir. Specific instructions on how to submit projects for funding can be found at www.wilco.org/CDBG.

"Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves" Training Offered April 25

The Williamson County Conservation Foundation is offering another “Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves” training for people who want to access County preserve areas.  The next class will be held on Thursday, April 25, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (sign-in begins at 6:00 p.m.) at the Williamson County Georgetown Annex, 100 Wilco Way, Georgetown, Texas 78626. The training will be held in the Human Resources Training Room. Please drive around to the northwest corner of the building to access through the Training Room door. To reserve a spot in the class, send an email to wccf@wilco.org and include "LNT" in the subject line. Include your name and the number of persons accompanying you. Because of classroom size, the class is limited to the first 40 people who register.

Household Hazardous Waste Cleanup April 27

Williamson County, the City of Cedar Park and Waste Management are hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Cleanup event on Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gupton Stadium parking lot at the corner of E. Park Street and Gupton Way in Cedar Park. The event is free to Williamson County and Cedar Park residents. To learn what to bring or not to bring, click here.

Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Office to Close at Noon on Wednesdays

The Justice Of the Peace Office in Precinct 1, 1801 E. Old Settlers Boulevard, in Round Rock will be closed to the public at noon every Wednesday afternoon starting April 10, 2019. The office will reopen Thursdays at 8 a.m. They apologize for any inconvenience this causes their customers. Information on the office is available online at http://www.wilco.org/jp1.
