County Offices Closed for Memorial Day

Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.  All county operations will resume regular hours on Tuesday, May 28, 2019; however, the Commissioners Court will not meet on Tuesday, May 28. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will be open regular hours on Monday from noon to 6 p.m. In honor of Memorial Day, from Friday, May 24, through Monday, May 27, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is hosting free adoptions for all adult dogs and cats. Be a hero to a pet and adopt a new family member this weekend.

The Williamson County Citizens Bond Committee has several meetings scheduled to hear from cities, municipal utility districts, schools and others regarding the potential need for roads and trails around the county. The purpose of the Williamson County Citizens Bond Committee is to review and analyze the infrastructure needs of Williamson County to determine if the county should consider a bond election in November 2019.All meetings are open to the public. The next meeting is Tuesday, May 21, at 5:30 p.m. at the Williamson County J.B. and Hallie Jester Annex, 1801 E. Citizens Bond Committee Meets June 6

Grand reopening of Williams Drive businesses Postponed to June 1

The grand reopening for businesses along Williams Drive has been moved to June 1 due to the forecast for rain this Saturday. The event will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. The party will be held in the parking lot of Lone Star Circle of Care located at 2425 Williams Drive.The event is a celebration of the businesses affected by the recent evacuations in and around the intersection of Williams Drive and River Bend in Georgetown. The community is invited to attend this free, family-friendly event to support local businesses as they reopen. The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce is coordinating the event, with assistance from the City of Georgetown and Williamson County. The event is sponsored by Atmos Energy.
