All individuals attending a court proceeding at the Williamson County Justice Center are requested to wear masks. Judges, at their discretion, may require masks to be worn in their courtroom according to revisions to the COVID Operating Plan for the Williamson County Justice Center. Individuals coming to the Justice Center for other business, such as visiting the County Clerk’s or District Clerk’s office, will not be required to wear masks. This clarification of yesterday’s revision to the plan was necessary given the unique circumstance that the Williamson County Justice Center is a facility shared by multiple elected officials.

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell has written a letter to residents in Williamson County encouraging those who are unsure or undecided about getting the COVID-19 vaccine to get vaccinated to help prevent more deaths. Williamson County has had an average of one death per day since the first death in the county on March 26, 2020. Every person has the right to choose whether or not to be vaccinated. What people who are undecided should know is the vast majority of recent COVID-19 cases and deaths have been unvaccinated people. Since March 2021, 95% of the confirmed case have been unvaccinated people. Judge Gravell describes this pandemic as the single greatest disaster we have faced in the history of the county. Read the full letter here. 

The District Clerk’s Office will be closed to the public on Thursday, August 5, and Friday, August 6, due to an office remodel project. All employees of the District Clerk’s Office will be working remotely and will continue to answer phones, process mail, work e-file and all other duties that can be performed remotely. The Williamson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Financial Literacy Program has been recognized with an Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo). The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents. NACo recognized the Financial Literacy Program for a 2021 Achievement Award in the category of Criminal Justice and Public Safety. The Financial Literacy Program is a program designed to allow driving offenders – those who received citations for No Driver’s License, Driving While License Invalid and No Insurance – the option to enroll in a financial education class in lieu of paying fines. 

During the week of July 18th through the 24th, 2021, the State of Texas and Williamson County recognizes the essential responsibilities performed by probation, parole, and community supervision professionals during Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision (PPPS) Week. PPPS week, which is observed annually in July, was signed into proclamation by Texas State Governor Greg Abbott on July 9, 2021. The week serves to recognize the contributions and critical role of pretrial, probation and parole officers nationwide in promoting positive change in their respective communities.
