The draft Central Texas Regional Analysis of Impediments (AI) to fair housing, a part of Consolidated Plans, is now available for public comment through April 23, 2019. The public is invited to the grand opening of the expansion of the Williamson County Regional Animal Center (WCRAS) on Thursday, March 14, 2019. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held for the new WCRAS Adoption Center in its parking lot located off of Wilco Way at 11 a.m. Attendees are invited to take part in a Kitten Shower by donating items for the shelter’s many cats and kittens! The shelter opens to the public at noon. 

Williamson County is undertaking the development of a Five Year Consolidated Plan (CP) for 2019-2023, as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, to determine its priority needs for affordable housing and community development benefiting primarily low- and moderate- income residents. Part of the Consolidated Planning process involves outreach to residents, business owners, and community leaders for input on housing, economic development, and community development needs across the County. You are invited to participate in an online survey by March 31. 

We want to hear about the housing challenges you, your family and friends, and/or neighbors face. We’d also like to know what changes you’d like to see to improve housing choice and neighborhood conditions. Please attend the regional community meeting! The Williamson County Commissioners Court is pleased to be able to provide live streaming of its weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. through the county website. The Court approved providing the live feed to its residents at their meeting on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. The first meeting to offer the live feed will be Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Video recordings of the Commissioners Court meetings are available each week, so adding the live feed did not incur any additional cost.
