The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) is hosting a $5 adoption event to help over forty roosters, hens and ducks find new homes. WCRAS received a call for assistance to aid over forty animals seized from a single location from a jurisdiction partner. The court has now awarded the animals to the shelter for adoption. 

County Judge Bill Gravell has lifted the burn ban for unincorporated areas of Williamson County today, Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at noon. A copy of the order lifting the burn ban can be found here. 

“Due to the recent rains and higher humidity levels, I am lifting the burn ban; however, if the weather continues to be warm and dry, the burn ban could be implemented again as early as next week, so please burn while conditions are favorable,” said County Judge Bill Gravell.  

On Tuesday, August 30, the Williamson County Commissioners Court, acting as ex-officio road commissioners of their respective precincts, adopted tax rates for tax year 2022 for Avery Ranch Road District No. 1, Pearson Place Road District, Northwoods Road District No. 1, and Somerset Hills Road District No. 4.
