The public is invited to watch the swearing in ceremonies for Williamson County elected officials. The ceremonies will be held in the Williamson County Historic Courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, Georgetown, Texas, Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, starting at 2 p.m. in the District Courtroom for those who wish to watch in person. Williamson County Asks Residents to Prepare Ahead of Hard Freeze Warning

The Williamson County Office of Emergency Management is encouraging residents to prepare now for the Hard Freeze Warning, Wind Chill Warning and Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service in anticipation of the freezing cold weather expected to enter the area Thursday, Dec. 22. Residents are encouraged to sign up for emergency alerts at www.warncentraltexas.org. Additional winter weather safety tips can be found at https://www.ready.gov/winter-weather.

Christmas Tree Recycling at Williamson County Landfill

The Williamson County Landfill, 600 Landfill Road in Hutto, offers free Christmas tree disposal from Dec. 26, 2022, to Jan. 7, 2023. Trees must be clean with no lights or Christmas décor.

Williamson County Landfill Holiday Schedule:
Christmas Week: Monday through Friday 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to noon 
New Year’s Week: Monday through Friday 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. to noon
