County Offices Closed for MLK Day

All Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2020, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.   County operations will resume regular hours on Tuesday, January 21, 2020; however, the Commissioners Court meeting on January 21 has been canceled. Their next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, January 28, 2020. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will be open normal hours noon to 6 p.m. on Monday, January 20.

The Office of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, located at 211 W. 6th Street in Taylor, will be closed January 6 and 7, 2020, due to anticipated street closures. JP 4 will be closed on Wednesday, January 8, as the court is closed every Wednesday to the public so clerks can catch up on paperwork. Payments can be mailed to the office at 211 W. 6th St., Taylor, TX 76574 or left in the court’s drop box on the northeast side of the building. Any payments or pleas that are due on those days will not be considered past due if paid by Jan. 9. Judge Stacy Hackenberg apologizes for the inconvenience.

The Justice of the Peace Precinct One Office will be closed December 23. County offices are closed December 24 and 25, 2019, for the Christmas holiday. Precinct One will reopen on Thursday, December 26, 2019. The public may mail correspondence to the Justice of the Peace Office addressed to Justice Court, Pct. 1, Williamson County, Texas, 1801 E Old Settlers Blvd., Ste. 100, Round Rock, Texas 78664 or pay tickets online at www.wilco.org/payjp1 . Williamson County Landfill Offers Christmas Tree Recylcing

The Williamson County Landfill, 600 Landfill Road in Hutto, will accept Christmas trees for recycling December 26, 2019, through January 19, 2020, free of charge for Williamson County residents.  Flocked trees are not accepted for recycling. The landfill will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Call (512) 759-8881 for more information.

County Breaks Ground on River Ranch County Park Interpretive Center

Williamson County broke ground December 11, 2019, on an interpretive center for River Ranch County Park. The center is being funded with a $750,000 grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife and voter approved park bonds for a cost of approximately $1.9 million. The interpretive center is slated to open in fall 2020.
