The Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector’s offices will be instituting new hours of operation for all four locations. Effective August 15, 2022, all county tax office lobbies will be closed to the public on Wednesdays. The Tax Assessor/Collector’s website offers a wealth of information including how to renew vehicle registration online or how to make an appointment at a tax office. The Williamson County District Clerk’s Office wants to warn residents in Williamson and surrounding counties about a phone scam that was reported to that office.  People have been receiving calls from someone who claims to be a county official or law enforcement officer telling the victim that he or she has failed to appear for jury duty and is threatening arrest by failure to appear.

The Quarry Splash Pad at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, 3005 C.R. 175, Leander, is open for the summer season through September 5, 2022. The splash pad is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The daily admission fee is $2 per person, credit cards only. The splash pad is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, except for Labor Day.

Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles was joined by Granger Mayor Monica Stojanik, Granger City Administrator Christy Bradshaw and others to break ground on the Davilla Street culvert project in Granger. Williamson County will be replacing the culvert located on a main street in Granger that provides access over the railroad tracks.

Williamson County’s Election website was rated as “Outstanding” by the League of Women Voters of Texas in their 2022 Primary Election County Website Review. Williamson County is one of only 56 out of 254 Texas counties to receive this rating.
