Event was held April 10 at the Georgetown Annex at 100 Wilco Way

Commisisoner Cook reads the National Crime Victims' Rights Week Proclamation at the podium next to a poster from County Attorney Dee Hobbs' Office of historical Williamson County photos of those who have provided criminal justice throughout the years.The event was attended and/or coordinated by county oficials, law enforcement executives and heads of staff, Hope Alliance representatives, advocates and families, friends and victims of crime. Also honored were area businesses, as well as the Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander and Taylor Chambers of Commerce.

This year's theme--Honoring Our Past, Creating Hope for the Future--celebrated the progress made by those before us as we look to a future of crime victim services that is even more inclusive, accessible and trauma-informed.

National Crime Victims' Rights Week runs April 7-13, 2019.

The Justice Of the Peace Office in Precinct 1, 1801 E. Old Settlers Boulevard, in Round Rock will be closed to the public at noon every Wednesday afternoon starting April 10, 2019. The office will reopen Thursdays at 8 a.m. They apologize for any inconvenience this causes their customers. Information on the office is available online at http://www.wilco.org/jp1.

425th District Court Judge Betsy Lambeth was keynote speaker at the fundraiser held at Fern Bluff Community Center on April 4, 2019.

Commissioner Cook and Judge Betsy Lambeth are both strong supporters of programs for those suffering from mental illness and substance abuse.Executive Director of Pavilion Gordon Butler and his granddaughter enjoy a moment together before the program.The Pavilion Clubhouse of Round Rock is a 501(c)(3) organization offering a long term recovery solution for those living with mental illness and/or substance abuse.

Judge Lambeth relayed a story of addiction and its trials and success in her family.
