Friday, March 25, 2022 is an Ozone Action Day. This means that ozone is forecast to reach levels that are unhealth for sensitive groups or greater than 70 ppb. Sensitive groups include senior citizens, children and teenagers, adults with respiratory illness, and adults who are active outside, such as outdoor workers. Please limit your driving, especially avoiding the use of vehicles between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and after 5 p.m. as ozone is created most during these hours. Also, fuel up your cars and trucks early in the morning or at night. Other actions you can take may include:
- Telecommute, if your supervisor approves it.
- Bring a lunch to your office.
- Carpool or take public transportation.
- Don’t idle your vehicle.
- If you can, postpone your off-site meeting to another day or conference in by phone if there is the capability.
