Operation Green Light for Veterans Nov. 7-13

 In advance of the upcoming Veterans Day holiday, the Williamson County Commissioners Court approved a resolution supporting Operation Green Light for Veterans and will light the historic courthouse dome green from November 7 through 13, 2022. Starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, County Judge Bill Gravell and Williamson County Veteran Services Officer Juan Amaya will hold a short program on the east steps of the historic county courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, honoring veterans before the courthouse dome is illuminated in green lights.

Signal at FM 1660 and Chandler Road Active Starting Nov. 10

The newly installed traffic signal at the intersection of FM 1660 and Chandler Road in north Hutto will soon be activated. Drivers will first notice new striping on the road, Thursday, Nov. 3. The signal lights will flash for one more week before becoming active on Thursday, Nov. 10. Signs will be posted a week prior, alerting drivers to the change.

Janessa Stephens Named Public Safety Technology Director

The Williamson County Commissioners Court placed an emphasis on supporting first responders in the fiscal year 2022-2023 budget. One way they have done this is by creating a dedicated Public Safety Division of Technology Services. With the partnership of Williamson County Emergency Services and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, this division of Technology Services was created to prioritize and improve technology support for first responders. Janessa Stephens was selected to lead this new division as the public safety technology director.
