Commissioner Cook Speaks at Rotary Club of Round Rock Sunrise

Meeting held Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Baca Center in Round Rock

Commissioner Cook explains maps of the new Apple location on a screen behind her as Rotarians listen. Commissioner Cook spoke to the apropriately named Rotary Club--Sunrise--at 7 a.m., their regular weekly meeting time, about the county budget and property taxes, and the recent Wilco-Apple 381 Agreement.

Rotary is an international humanitarian service organization of business and community leaders and volunteers who are willing and able to support Rotary's mission. They are a global network of volunteers: men and women doing incredible things together to create positive change in our community and our world. They give their time and resources to help others, while enjoying what they do.

They believe improving people's lives leads to a better and more peaceful world. In conjunction with Rotary International, they participate in and support service projects that address critical issues. Targeted for elimination are poverty, disease, hunger, illiteracy, and pollution.  They commit time, talent, experience and resources to make a positive difference.
