Williamson County Grant Program Assists local businesses

Wilco Forward, Williamson County’s grant program to provide financial relief to local business owners impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, has issued 198 checks as of today. That accounts for $2.8 million of the $25 million allocated by the Commissioners Court for the program.

Williamson County Offices Continue Operating on a Limited Basis

While Williamson County businesses prepare to reopen under Phase I of Governor Greg Abbott’s new Open Texas orders, county offices will continue to operate at a limited capacity through the month of May. As a preventative measure to reduce the spread of COVID-19, county offices and departments will continue to provide services in a way that limits in-person interactions including scheduling appointments, working remotely, and conducting business via telephone, email, mail, using technology, and drop box services, until June 1, 2020.

Williamson County Receives Financial Support from CARES Act for COVID-19 Response

Williamson County is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of $93,382,340.10, which is provided to the county through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Aid, also known as CARES Act. The CARES Act established the $150 billion Coronavirus Relief Fund, which will be used to assist states and local governments impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since April 1, 2020, the Williamson County call center, which was created to answer residents’ concerns over COVID-19, has been pulling double duty. In addition to answering calls, they have added making hundreds of outbound calls to their daily workload. Except these are not just any calls, they are special one-on-one calls intended to make sure all veterans in Williamson County feel appreciated and acknowledged.
