Williamson County Emergency Medical Services has a plethora of classes available to the public that aim to prepare individuals by teaching them life-saving skills. Below are the details on the classes available in December.
1. HeartCode BLS, available December 4 and 11, is comprised of a two-part course. One section of the course can be done online from the comfort of your home, and it needs to be completed prior to the second portion which includes a hands-on skills session with an AHA BLS Instructor.
2. Heartsaver Blended Learning training, held December 4, offers flexibility for employers, students, and instructors. The eLearning (online) portion of the course is designed to teach students the cognitive information needed for first aid and/or CPR and AED training. Upon successful completion of the online portion, students attend a hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor.
3. Take10 & Stop The Bleed, taking place on December 14, will cover the nationally recognized program that increases cardiac arrest survival. Stop The Bleed, also a life-saving technique, will teach attendees how to pack a wound and stop it from bleeding. Both courses will be taught the same day.
