Successful Launch of Williamson County’s Vaccination Hub

Family Hospital Systems Vaccinates 2,530 People

Successful Launch of Williamson County’s Vaccination Hub

Approximately 2,530 people received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday at two vaccination sites in Williamson County. Williamson County, through its vaccine provider Family Hospital Systems (FHS), received 6,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Wednesday morning. FHS was named a state-approved COVID-19 vaccination hub on Saturday, January 16.

Vaccinations started at noon January 20 at both the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex and the Sun City Texas ballroom. Both vaccination sites are open to all Texans in the state’s Phase 1b group who pre-registered through FHS and have an appointment.

“We are very grateful to the governor and the state’s trust in Williamson County in providing the vaccines, but the truth is we are ready to administer more,” said Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell. “We are grateful for what we received, but the doses that we received we believe will be out within the next two days.”

At this time, all appointments to receive the 6,000 doses are being scheduled with individuals that are already pre-registered. The county understands the urgency of getting more vaccines on hand and is working closely with the state to fill the need of its residents.

Residents eligible to receive the vaccine under DSHS Phase 1b can sign-up to be on the FHS waitlist by visiting https://familyhospitalsystems.typeform.com/to/hp91XiiR.
