Martín Sanchez Receives CSCD Award for Outstanding Service

Community Service Restitution Director Martín Sanchez was recently recognized with an outstanding service award from Williamson County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD).

The Community Service Restitution (CSR) director position was created in 2000 as a joint effort between Williamson County and CSCD. The CSR program allows an opportunity for justice-involved adults to give back to the community by completing community service hours as a form of restitution. Thanks to longstanding allowances provided by the Williamson County judiciary, once a year the CSR program is also able to collect, donate, organize and deliver goods to local food pantries in Williamson County. Year-round, the CSR program operates the “Road and Bridge” program and works with multiple county and municipal agencies as well as nonprofit organizations such as Meals on Wheels and The Caring Place.

The CSCD was honored to have 26th District Court Judge Donna King present the award to Martín Sanchez. “The Road and Bridge program affords a meaningful alternative to incarceration in appropriate cases by providing accountability for defendants while servicing our community. The judges of the district courts and county courts at law of Williamson County utilize this valuable sentencing tool and are thankful to Williamson County CSCD and specifically the trusted work of Martín in overseeing this program. Congratulations, Martín, on this award and thank you for the years of trusted service,” said Judge Donna King.

“Martín Sanchez has had a positive impact on the lives of countless individuals while serving in his role with the CSCD,” said CSCD Director Jameson Pennington. “Since Martín took over the program in 2014, more than 615,000 community service hours have been completed and roughly 110,000 pounds of food has been delivered to local food pantries to help those most in need in our community. Martín’s passion to help others and dedication to public safety is undeniable. As a certified Community Supervision Officer, Martín assists probationers in obtaining success while learning new skills and giving back to their own communities.”

The Community Service Restitution Program is proud to operate throughout Williamson County to assist public agencies and nonprofit organizations in their efforts to serve the public and achieve community goals.
