Family Emergency Room COVID-19 Testing on Hold Due to Backlog of Applicants

Family Emergency Room COVID-19 Testing on Hold Due to Backlog of Applicants

Due to the overwhelming interest in COVID-19 testing through Family Emergency Rooms, Williamson County is temporarily taking down the online testing portal from its website until the backlog of testing requests has been scheduled. Announcements will be made notifying the public when they can again request a free COVID-19 test from the County at www.wilco.org

The partnership between Williamson County and Family Emergency Rooms for COVID-19 testing has been overwhelmingly successful.  As of Tuesday, May 19, there have been 564 nasopharyngeal tests conducted, which have provided accurate testing results to concerned citizens.   Of these tests, there have been eight positive results, allowing the individuals to seek medical attention and quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus. In addition to the tests performed, there are approximately 350 more individuals scheduled for testing and more than a thousand in line to be scheduled.
