County Celebrates the Addition of RV Sites at the Expo Center

Williamson County celebrated the addition of 51 new recreation vehicle parking sites at the county’s Expo Center today with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Water and electricity connections are provided at each site, with 23 of the sites also having wastewater connections. In addition, one of the sites is designated for Park Host duties.

“These RV sites are a welcomed addition and will contribute to even greater economic development in the area,” stated Williamson County Judge Dan Gattis.

The project was designed by Halff Associates and was constructed by Champion Site Prep. Partial funding came from a $500,000 grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program Project with funding assistance through the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Recreation Grants Branch.  The remaining $1,303,160 was funded with voter approved park bonds.

“I’m excited to have this new addition to our Expo Center. It doesn’t seem that long since we broke ground on this project, and soon we will have these sites available for the public to use,” said Precinct 4 Commissioner Larry Madsen.

The new sites will be available to rent at a daily rate and can be used during events at the Expo Center. Please refer to the Williamson County Expo website for information on reservations. The Williamson County Expo Center is located at 5350 Bill Pickett Trail, in Taylor, Texas.
