Williamson County No Longer a High Hospitalization Area

Williamson County, which falls under Trauma Service Area (TSA) Region O, received notification today from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) that it no longer meets the definition of an "area with high hospitalizations." This allows certain businesses to operate at the higher capacity levels allowable under Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-32 effective immediately.

Per Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order GA-32, once the TSA has reported a hospitalization rate under 15 percent for seven consecutive days, the TSA may increase its capacity at specified businesses from 50 percent to 75 percent.

In addition, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) has approved County Judge Bill Gravell’s request to allow bars to reopen in Williamson County, per Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order GA-32. Under GA-32, bars or similar establishments that hold a permit from the TABC, and are not restaurants according to the order, may offer on-premises services up to 50 percent of the total listed occupancy of the establishment if the bar or similar establishment is not in an area with high hospitalizations and the county judge of the county in which it is located files the requisite form with TABC.

Per DSHS, all licensed hospitals in TSA O may resume elective surgeries as set forth in Executive Order GA-32.
