County Office Holiday Closures

Williamson County offices will be closed on Thursday, December 24, Friday, December 25, and the following week on Thursday, December 31, and Friday, January 1, due to the holidays. The public is encouraged to visit the County website www.wilco.org for updated information on each department and their hours of operation. It is also highly recommended that residents consider utilizing the online services that are being offered in each department to help reduce in-person contact and possible exposure to COVID-19.

There will be no Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday, December 29, or Tuesday, January 5. However, a Special Session of the Williamson County Commissioners Court will be held on January 1, 2021, following the Elected Official Induction Ceremony in the Commissioners Courtroom on the second floor of the historic courthouse, located at 710 S. Main Street, in Georgetown.

The Williamson County Elections Office will be closed to the public from December 21, 2020, through January 1, 2021. For more information, go to the Elections website www.wilco.org/elections.

They will be open New Year’s Eve from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be closed New Year’s Day, except for emergency stray intake and pet reclaims from noon to 4 p.m. The shelter is operating on an appointment only basis. Starting December 26, Williamson County residents can dispose of their Christmas trees for free by dropping them off at the Williamson County Landfill, located at 600 Landfill Road in Hutto. Residents have until January 19, 2021, to recycle their trees at the landfill. Before taking a tree to the landfill, residents are asked to remove all lights and ornaments. Flocked trees are not accepted for recycling. The landfill will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. For more information, please call 512-759-8881.
