County Office Closures

Williamson County offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday on December 23 and 24, 2021, as well as on December 31, 2021, for the New Year’s holiday. The Commissioners Court will not meet Dec. 28, 2021, or Jan. 4, 2022. The next Commissioners Court meeting will occur Jan. 11, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom in the historical courthouse, 710 S. Main, Georgetown, Texas.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will be open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. The WCRAS will be open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, and will be closed on New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2022. Schedule your priority service appointment by emailing adoption@wilco.org.

Starting December 26, Williamson County residents can dispose of their Christmas trees for free by dropping them off at the Williamson County Landfill, located at 600 Landfill Road in Hutto. Residents have until January 21, 2022, to recycle their trees at the landfill. Before taking a tree to the landfill, residents are asked to remove all lights and ornaments. Flocked trees are not accepted for recycling. The landfill will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. For more information, please call 512-759-8881.
