The Williamson County Conservation Foundation is offering an online “Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves” training for people who want to access County preserve areas.  The class will be held via WebEx (online webinar) on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

JP3 Hosts New Program for Teens About Texas Law

The Office of Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Evelyn McLean is offering a new program to introduce teens to Texas law. "What Every Teen Should Know About Texas Law" is designed for high school juniors and seniors. It is based on the book by Judge Christopher Cypert and is packed full of great information for young people moving into adulthood. The ten-week program will be held on Monday nights from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For information on how to apply, contact Nora Rodriguez at 512-943-1570. County Conducts Parking Lot Repairs at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park

Williamson County will be doing repairs and improvements to the parking lots in the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, 3005 CR 175 in Leander, starting June 7, 2021. Work includes crack filling, fog sealing and striping the parking lots on a rotating basis over two weeks from June 7 to 29. Make-up days due to weather are scheduled for June 28 to July 2, 2021, if necessary Southwest Williamson County Regional Park will not close during this time period, however various parking lots at any given time will be closed for up to 72 hours to complete the necessary work.  The contractor will try and minimize impacts; however, visitors may need to park in nearby lots and walk or bike to their event. A schedule that confirms which parking lots will be closed on which days will be posted to the website here.

The Quarry Splash Pad Opens Saturday, May 29

One of Williamson County’s most popular recreational facilities, the Quarry Splash Pad at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, opens for summer on Saturday, May 29!  The Splash Pad is a unique park situated on approximately two acres that includes water cannons, waterfalls, and water jets, along with a nearby sand play area. There is no standing water and no lifeguard on duty. The splash pad is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for an entrance fee of $2 per person.  Credit card payments only are accepted. The Quarry Splash Pad will be open on Memorial Day; however, is usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

County Offices Closed for Memorial Day

Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2021, in observance of Memorial Day. The Commissioners Court meeting is canceled Tuesday, June 1, but all departments will resume their regular hours on Tuesday. The Commissioners Court meeting will resume the following Tuesday, June 8. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) will be open regular hours on Monday from noon to 6 p.m. The Quarry Splash Pad at the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, 3005 CR 175, in Leander, opens for the season on Saturday, May 29.
