Williamson County remains in a Flash Flood Watch until Wednesday evening. The National Weather Service predicts the rain will continue for at least the next 24 hours. Residents are asked to remain weather aware. Check for closed roads at www.atxfloods.com in the Central Texas area and check road conditions across Texas at www.drivetexas.org. Never drive through water flowing over a roadway. Turn around, don't drown.

Tax Office in Cedar Park Begins Remodel July 17
The Williamson County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office In Cedar Park, Texas, will be closed on Monday, July 17, as crews begin construction on an extensive remodel of the tax office. The office will reopen the following day on Tuesday, July 18, with limited staff using temporary space in the same building.  The temporary space will be in use until completion of the remodel, estimated for January 2018.  Improvements being made include the addition of a drive-thru, expanded lobby seating, more efficient work space and additional workstations for future growth.

June is National PTSD Awareness Month

June is National Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness (PTSD) Month. PTSD is a form of anxiety that can be caused after someone experiences extreme trauma, such as being involved in a serious accident, an assault or abuse, a natural disaster, or exposure to combat. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs states that PTSD is the third most common mental condition among veterans in the Veterans Affairs (V.A.) hospital system.
