Williamson County, Texas

Williamson County has been awarded an additional $1,343,984 in federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding. This is from the third tranche of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to help prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19. Williamson County received approximately $939,000 in the first round of CDBG CARES Act funding.

The Williamson County Tax Assessor-Collector’s offices will be closed September 15 to September 17, 2020, on a rotating schedule for staff training. While one office is closed, other office locations will be open regular business hours.

 Williamson County Office of Emergency Management in partnership with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and in coordination with the City of Georgetown will be hosting free COVID-19 testing September 12  through 15.  

County Judge Bill Gravell has lifted the burn ban for unincorporated areas of Williamson County effective at noon on Friday, September 4, 2020. The Williamson County Fire Marshal and Office of Emergency Management recommended for the County Judge to lift the burn ban as a result of improved conditions. Please be cautious with any outdoor burning activity. Outdoor burning must be conducted under state regulations found in Texas Administrative Code Section 30 TAC 111.219. A copy of the order can be found here. 

The Williamson County Commissioners Court will hold a public meeting on September 15, 2020, to vote on the proposed tax rates for road districts in Williamson County. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street in Georgetown, on the second floor in the Commissioners Courtroom.
