Williamson County Awarded Additional CDBG CARES Act Funds

Williamson County has been awarded an additional $1,343,984 in federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding. This is from the third tranche of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to help prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19. Williamson County received approximately $939,000 in the first round of CDBG CARES Act funding.

Williamson County Lifts Burn Ban

County Judge Bill Gravell has lifted the burn ban for unincorporated areas of Williamson County effective at noon on Friday, September 4, 2020. The Williamson County Fire Marshal and Office of Emergency Management recommended for the County Judge to lift the burn ban as a result of improved conditions. Please be cautious with any outdoor burning activity. Outdoor burning must be conducted under state regulations found in Texas Administrative Code Section 30 TAC 111.219. A copy of the order can be found here

Public Meeting to Vote on Proposed Road District Tax Rates September 15

The Williamson County Commissioners Court will hold a public meeting on September 15, 2020, to vote on the proposed tax rates for road districts in Williamson County. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street in Georgetown, on the second floor in the Commissioners Courtroom. View the public meeting notices for Avery Ranch Road District #1, Pearson Place Road District, and Northwoods Road District.
