Southwest Bypass
Location The Southwest Bypass is a new roadway from IH-35 to RM 2243.
Description   The City of Georgetown and Williamson County are planning a multi-lane, roadway in a new location. This project will be divided up into multiple phases that will be designed and constructed separately.
Status

Segment 1 of the Southwest Bypass project is the construction of a new two lane roadway from IH-35 to 3,100 feet west.  Design is complete. Jordan Foster is the contractor. A groundbreaking was held on Friday, September 8, 2017. Construction was completed in fall 2018. 

Segment 2 is the construction of a new two lane roadway from RM 2243 to 3,500 feet east (Segment 1).  This will complete the roadway from RM 2243 to IH-35. Segment 2 construction started September 24, 2018 by James Construction. A virtual ribbon cutting was held on Tuesday, May 26, at 10 a.m., and the road is open to the public.
