Dear Residents of the Ranch at Cypress Creek,
As you are aware, the intersection at Sun Chase Blvd and Autumn Fire Dr. has changed from a two-way stop to a four-way stop. As traffic increases on our County roadways, our intersections sometimes need to change to match the increase in traffic. In determining if an intersection has met the threshold for a four-way stop, the County is mandated to follow the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUCD). This manual provides guidance and rules on when the four way stop is applicable and when it is not. The County Engineer’s Office conducted a study and based on the results of the study and the TMUCD, it was determined that the intersection needed a four-way stop to safeguard maneuvering through the intersection. Having said that, our office will continue to analyze and monitor the intersection for possible efficiencies to mobility while continuing to ensure safety.
