Williamson County EMS is participating in a national contest to encourage residents to register Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). The life-saving device can increase cardiac arrest survival rates.

The contest is put on by Williamson County EMS partner, PulsePoint.  AED’s that are registered through PulsePoint AED are accessible to emergency responders and citizens trained in CPR through its PulsePoint Respond mobile app. The app uses the AED registry to identify AED locations for public use and 9-1-1 telecommunicators during emergency call-taking.

Each person who registers an AED will be entered to win one of ten $500 Amazon gift cards. Additionally, the community that registers the most AEDs will receive $5,000 worth of new AEDS. There are more than 129,500 AEDS registered across the country. To learn more about the contest, visit pulsepoint.org/AEDcontest.
