The Williamson County Exposition Center in Taylor will be expanding. On Wednesday, ground was broken on new improvements including a pavilion, east concession area and a restroom building.

The Pavilion will house 200 horse stalls. This will allow current multi-day equestrian events to expand. It also will be a new home for the Williamson County Livestock Association to host their annual show and sale. In addition, cattle sales, dog shows, archery contests, RV shows, pet expos, and more will take place in the Pavilion.

“The Expo Center has been a vibrant part of Williamson County since it was renovated and reopened in 2016. More than 120 events are held each year at the Expo Center attracting nearly 100,000 people. With the addition of these improvements, we will see even larger events coming to the county,” said Commissioner Russ Boles, Precinct 4.

The designer of the improvements is Populous. The contractor is Prime Construction. The project is estimated to be completed in summer 2020 for a cost of $4.5 million paid for with voter approved park bonds.
