Williamson County Announces Upcoming Investitures for New Judges

Two new Williamson County judges will take the bench in October.

An investiture for Will Ward, the new judge of County Court at Law No. 5, will be held on Monday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. in the 277th District Courtroom at the Williamson County Justice Center, 405 MLK, in Georgetown. Ward, who currently serves as an assistant district attorney in Williamson County, was appointed to the newly created County Court bench by the Williamson County Commissioners Court on August 30, 2022.

An investiture for Justice Scott Field, the new judge of the 480th District Court, will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. in the historic Williamson County Courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, in Georgetown. He will take the formal oath of office in a private ceremony on October 1. Field, who is a partner with Butler Snow and was previously a Justice on the Third Court of Appeals, was appointed to the newly created District Court Bench by Governor Greg Abbott on September 6, 2022.

The public is invited to attend both ceremonies.
