Commissioner Cook reads a tribute to Juanita Craft during Commissioners Court on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022.

Juanita Craft, at the age of 73, was elected to the Dallas City Council, where she ultimately served for two terms. As a tribute to her amazing legacy of public service and having a positive impact on so many lives, a recreation center, a park, and a U.S. Post Office in Dallas have been named in her honor.

This Round Rock Woman transformed the deep hurts of racial discrimination into a lifetime of courageous work for its elimination.

Juanita Craft, home-grown trailblazer having a positive impact!
