The Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector’s Office received the 2017 Tyler Excellence Award on May 8, 2017, at the Tyler Connect Conference held in San Antonio.  The office was presented the award for their vision, direction, and development in an online property tax estimator.  Taxpayers and businesses call the Tax Assessor/Collector’s Office daily for property tax estimates.  To provide an accurate answer, the process could take up to ten minutes calculating the tax estimate for each property.

With the direction and vision of the Tax Assessor/Collector’s Call Center and Property Tax staff, Tyler Technologies developed an intuitive, effective property tax estimator that requires little input and delivers accurate results.  The user simply chooses the property for which they want to create the estimate, determines the value with which to calculate the tax, and chooses the applicable exemptions that may apply.  The property tax estimate is instantly tabulated based on the data.  The user can adjust the property value and exemptions, if desired, and the property tax estimate would change accordingly.  This new development is a great tool for home buyers, realtors, mortgage lenders, and title companies to quickly and accurately calculate taxes on properties in Williamson County.

Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector Larry Gaddes stated, "Tyler and their Orion team delivered our vision and then some.  The tax estimator has significantly increased our staff’s efficiency and level of customer service when responding to taxpayer questions."
