Home for the Holidays in Williamson County! In this edition of the the WILCOunty Line, we share information on how you can to foster or adopt a pet from the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, donate to Williamson County Brown Santa, and enjoy all the activities Williamson County has to offer!

Commissioner Cook invited several groups involved with Senior Care and Fraud Activity to make presentations to the residents of The Heritage in Austin.

A Round Rock High School Holiday Program To Benefit Elementary School Students

Students from Round Rock, McNeil and Stoney Point High Schools will host a Christmas party and provide gifts to approximately 150 elementary students on December 5, 2018.

The elementary students have been identified with some type of challenge in their lives that could impact their holiday celebrations.

This year the number of elementary students identified for the project has increased from prior years and the schools could use community support.

The high school students are taking up donations and toys for these elementary students. There is also a wish list.

If you’re a Wilco resident with a high school diploma or GED looking for a more flexible and much more affordable degree or certification program, I recommend two unbeatable options.

Last fall, I toured and wrote about the East Williamson County Higher Education Center in Hutto. Texas State Technical College, Temple College, and Texas A&M University-Central Texas that comprise EWCHEC, which formed a partnership with the Hutto community.

EWCHEC, through its three colleges, provides an opportunity to obtain associate degrees, coursework to finish bachelor’s and graduate degrees, and certification/licensure in programs like industrial maintenance, precision machining, welding and even cybersecurity.
