Williamson County and Family Emergency Room announced an improved contract to provide better COVID-19 testing services for all. The charges for COVID-19 tests are currently covered by most inurance companies, and Family Emergency Room will bill the patient's insurance company at no cost to the patient. Tests for any Williamson County resident without insurance will be paid for by the county. The renewed partnership is a continuation of hard work between the two entities to make testing more accessible.

Under the improved contract, Family Emergency Room will provide a seamless scheduling process to ensure that residents no longer need to wait for a call back to schedule an appointment. The agreement also allows for additional Family Emergency Room sites to be utilized. Residents can count on drive-thru style testing at the two Family Emergency Room locations in Cedar Park, one located on Whitestone Boulevard and the other on Lakeline Boulevard, and at their Round Rock facility on A.W. Grimes Boulevard. In the near future, Family Emergency Room is planning to provide testing at additional Williamson County facilities.

Due to high demand, testing is being prioritized for symptomatic individuals; however, asymptomatic and antibody testing is also available for a fee and is being scheduled within a five to eight day period.
