WCSO Explorers

The Williamson County Sheriff's Explorer program acquaints young adults with the field of law enforcement as a future career choice along with life skills, citizenship, character education and leadership experience.



Williamson County Sheriff’s Office 2021 Junior Deputy Academy

This summer the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office hosted a four-day academy that gave young citizens residing in Williamson County the opportunity to see what it is like to be a county deputy and to learn other unique aspects of Williamson County. During the academy, junior cadets participated in activities such as interacting with a K9 and its handler, lifting fingerprints, taking a tour of the jail and the old county courthouse as well as hands-on experience with tactical equipment and so much more.

Junior Deputy Academy Requirements:
- Ages of 9 to 14 years old
- Williamson County Resident or Williamson County Employee
- Parent or Guardian must Sign-Up and Register their own child(ren).

*The Sheriff’s Office is operating at 100% with face masks “optional”, however Social Distancing will be practiced when “practical” with class sizes limited to 20 per session.



D.A.R.E Program Information

Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) is an education program that seeks to prevent use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs, and violent behavior. Visit www.dare.org
