Williamson County Judge Issues Disaster Declaration for April 12 Storm

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell issued an order declaring a local state of disaster for Williamson County due to the severe weather event on April 12, 2022. The disaster declaration is in effect for seven days unless extended by the Commissioners Court. For a copy of the disaster declaration, click here

Governor Greg Abbott has issued disaster declarations for Bell County and Williamson County in response to severe weather that impacted the communities overnight on April 12. The storm produced heavy rain, large hail, damaging winds, and multiple tornadoes. View the state disaster declaration for Williamson County.

Our Office of Emergency Management has conducted damage assessments and found approximately 15 structures were damaged near Florence,” said County Judge Bill Gravell. “We are grateful that we did not have any serious injuries due to the storm in our county, but our prayers are with the families in Bell County who did experience tremendous loss.”
