This morning, Williamson County EMS gave lifesaving awards and challenge coins to Riley and Faith Cox for their quick action to save their grandfather’s life. On Nov. 23, their grandfather, former Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Larry Madsen, was at his daughter’s house when he suddenly went into cardiac arrest. Without hesitation, Faith called 911 while Riley, who had learned CPR in school, performed chest compressions until the Round Rock Fire Department and Williamson County EMS paramedics arrived.
Early intervention with CPR can save lives, and it can be learned in about 10 minutes! Go to www.wilco.org/ems to find a class offered from Williamson County EMS and be ready in case an emergency happens.
