CR 351 Bridge Over Donahoe Creek
Williamson County, the Texas Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration recently replaced a timber bridge on CR 351 over Donahoe Creek.  The timber bridge was functionally obsolete and had a reduced load carrying capacity.

CR 456 Bridge Over Brushy Creek

The CR 456 bridge over Brushy Creek near Coupland has been closed until further notice due to structural concerns. The County is working with the Texas Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration to determine the appropriate path forward regarding the repair or possible replacement of the structure.

September 14, 2016 Update

Since closing the CR 456 truss bridge:

  • The County is working with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to determine the appropriate path forward regarding the repair or possible replacement of the structure.
  •  After meeting with TxDOT Bridge Division, repair of the structure or possible replacement has been approved.
  • Once TxDOT obtains environmental and historical clearance, this project can move forward in perusing design alternatives for the CR 456 truss bridge.
  • Construction of the CR 456 bridge can be started after the design phase is completed and the construction contract is awarded to a Contractor.

Williamson County Road and Bridge Division is dedicated to maintaining the County’s roadway infrastructure using the most appropriate engineering solution in a cost effective manner.  We greatly appreciate your continued support and interest in the developments of this project, and thank you for your patience.
